Having read Azazel’s latest Decemb-uary post, which is chock-full of fantastic paint jobs and brilliant conversions by fellow participants, I was inspired to get myself into gear and finish off the final touches to my dreadnought.
Without further ado I present venerable-brother Dracorus…

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Azazel for coming up with the idea for this painting challenge, I’ve wanted to do something like this for some time but things either got in the way or the subject didn’t really fit with the projects I was working on at the time.
Fortunately, with this fellow sitting around waiting for a lick of paint I was able to join in the fun!
He came out very nice. Those enormous, albeit hairless fellows flanking the Ancient One are impressive too. Interesting how you mounted your guys on clear bases too.
Thank you, a good friend of mine was always talking about basing his models with transparent bases and I always thought it would be really cool. I decided to do it with my marines as I intended to use them for Space Hulk and Space crusade, allowing me to still see the board art underneath.
It certainly would help you avoid my issue too: I usually base my guys with desert sand bases and then end up playing on urban or green boards a lot.
Fearsome! Great work.
Cheers, Mr. Arkie! 🙂
Awesome stuff – he’s turned out really well. He looks great alongside his brothers, and I do like the clear acrylic bases. I’ve seen that look a few times before and it works really well on the table and – as you say – across boardgames and different terrain types.
Thank you! 🙂
Whoa! Very cool man
Thank you, I’m very happy with the finished result! 🙂
