Of Beast & Man

‘While passing through the forbidden forests, an arrow loosed from the tree line, alerts our intrepid hero and his trusty entourage to the imminent threat of ambush!..’

I have been busily painting more mythical creatures for my Of Myth & Legend project, this time in the form of a small band of Satyrs. These plastic miniatures are Beastmen Ungors from Games Workshop, and they fit the bill rather well!

      1. This project deserves to make it onto the table, for sure!

I throw dice in anger, too, though in my case, I’m speaking literally. Mostly.

      2. Your not alone there my friend, my opponents are always amused by the vitriol with which I hurl those dastardly little buggers! I shout at them a lot too!?! (the dice I mean)

      3. Ha! I threw three ones, and two twos in a row during a game this past Saturday. Much gnashing of teeth!

I think that as long as we avoid crossing the line and throwing them AT our opponents, we don’t have to feel too bad.

  1. Beautiful shot. The background works very well and background and foreground just become one. A very evocative scene. I especially like how you placed the lake such that it appears as if the river would flow towards it. The Satyrs are indeed beautifully painted. Nice earth tones and at the same time good contrasts.
